What does this driver do?

Our String to Event Driver for ELAN allows an Elan system to listen on a specified port for commands received from other devices, for example, string commands from Philips Dynalite.

Features:

  • Searches received data packets for string text that have been set in the driver and then fires an event map trigger.
  • Use case: Having a Dynalite keypad setup to start a music player in a room. The Dynalite system is setup to send “Sonos play” and ELAN is configured to start the relevant Sonos playing on receipt of the command.

We offer comprehensive support for all of our software that requires the purchase of a license key for as long as they are listed on the Intrinsic Dev website. If it’s your first time installing a driver or if you believe there is a technical problem simply submit a ticket via our Online Support system.

Enhanced support

We also offer Enhanced Remote Support for each control platform. This support is charged in 30 minute intervals where we are pleased to advise on anything that falls outside of standard driver queries, including, but not limited to, driver installation, wider system integration/programming, general training and system design.

Devices

License

All of our software is available to download free of charge but will require licensing to function. Unless specifically noted only one license is required per controller/processor. You can run as many devices as required up to the limit supported by your chosen control platform.

Easy setup

All of our drivers/modules come with comprehensive Integration Notes to ensure the easiest possible set up of our software. Many also have Installation Tutorial videos to further assist you. Please ensure you refer to these resources each time you install a new driver/module.

Installing Stenograph Writer Drivers in Case CATalyst

Note: The following instructions are for users who are using Case CATalyst version 15 and above. If you are using Case CATalyst version 14 or below click here for information on how to install the drivers.

  1. Connect the writer to your computer with the USB cable and turn the writer on.
  2. Open Case CATalyst and click on Help, Open Device Manager (Alt + h, d). The Device Manager will appear in a separate window.
  3. In Device Manager look for a category that says Other Devices. Below that you should see a yellow exclamation point that says Luminex Machine, Diamante Machine, Stenograph Elan Mira, or Stenograph Fusion. Right click on the yellow exclamation point and left click on Update Driver.
  4. The Update Driver Software dialog window will appear. Left-click Browse my computer for driver software.
  5. In the next screen type C:Cat4DriversWriter (or copy and paste this text) in the Search for driver software in this location field. Then click Next.
  6. You will be prompted with a dialog window verifying the installation of the drivers. Click Install.
  7. When your writer's USB driver has finished installing, click Close.
  8. To confirm a successful installation has completed, a new category will appear that say Stenograph USB Writer without a yellow exclamation point next to it.
  9. After installing the writer USB driver, you may get another driver installation wizard to install the Stenograph Writer Serial Port. Follow steps 4-7 to install the drivers.
